The Librarian plays a crucial role in developing a love of reading across our inclusive and innovative international school. The postholder will work with the English team, and home room teachers, to support the development of reading and ensuring the library is a central and critical resource in the school.

The ideal candidate will have a background in working in schools and supporting the library function. They will also have excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to promoting a culture of reading school-wide.

Accountability

Line managed by the Head of English.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Management of reading resources
  • Ensure that there is the correct software to list and manage the books coming in and out of the library
  • Lead on keeping the library orderly and welcoming, as a safe haven for reading and quiet work
  • Ensure that all books and materials in the library are culturally sensitive and acceptable
  1. Procurement:
  • Have a keen eye on new literature (fiction and non-fiction) coming out for children and young adults, and work within the given budget to keep the books in the library up to date and engaging
  • Work with the IT lead to consider digital resources as well as hard resources as part of this procurement process
  1. Initiatives:
  • In liaison with the Head of English, develop and support initiatives to engage the community with reading tasks, to develop a love of reading across all age ranges
  • Ensure that the library is well used throughout the day to promote a love of reading
  1. Assistance and Support – Teaching and Learning
  • Assist teachers when classes are using the library
  • Listen to readers 1:1 when free to do so
  • Lead a reading club as part of the extra curricular programme
  • Provide technical support for teachers when children are taking and returning books
  1. Professional Development:

Engage in ongoing professional development that supports the role, and also supports working in an inclusive learning environment.

  • Taking a proactive approach to safeguard all children and members of the School community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Previous experience working in a library would be advantageous
  • Fluency in English language.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

We are looking for an experienced school nurse to join Beech Hall School Riyadh.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide health services to students and staff when they are at school. This role involves treating injuries and mild to acute sicknesses, or supporting students with chronic illnesses. You’ll also help with preventive care by educating students on how to avoid communicable diseases and having proper hygiene. 

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate with children, their parents or guardians, and teachers. If you meet these requirements, and you also have a genuine interest in improving children’s lives, we’d like to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic healthcare to students and staff in case of injury or acute illness.
  • Be responsible for handling emergencies and providing first aid care to students within the school.
  • Follow all safeguarding and child protection procedures, ensuring children are kept safe from harm and any concerns about welfare are shared with the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Develop health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities.
  • Keep all relevant medical information up to date on the school’s management information system, and ensure it is regularly updated and communicated to staff.
  • Work with staff to complete incident report forms so that parents can be updated in a timely manner
  • Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene.
  • Detect health problems in early stages through regular screenings.
  • Keep track of students’ vaccination records.
  • Update students’ medical history.
  • Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases)
  • Write referrals for paediatricians and other health specialists.
  • Ensure compliance with national and local health laws.

Requirements and skills

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Nurse preferably in a school.
  • Nurse certification.
  • Need to have a Saudi NHS registration.

  • Manage the Music department at Beech Hall School, including all planning, delivery, assessment and promotion of the subject and curriculum.
  • Take part in the co-curricular life of the school, including leading music clubs, choirs, musical productions and concerts.
  • Contribute to other areas of the curriculum as and when necessary.
  • Be a part of a duty team and undertake the responsibilities desired, commensurate to current workloadand cross-curricular activities.
  • Provide cover for the lessons of other teachers as and when required.
 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • A relevant Bachelor’s Degree or Teaching Qualification
  • A minimum of two years relevant teaching experience;
  • Excellent working knowledge of the IPC, American/ IB Curriculum is an advantage;
  • A proven track record of effective teaching;
  • A strong academic background, stature and experience that will command the respect of pupils, parents,colleagues and the wider community

The Deputy Head (Arabic and Islamic) will hold a key role on the Leadership Team and will work in conjunction with the Executive Principal and Heads of School to support a clear strategy that sits alongside the ethos of the whole school. The post holder will offer visionary leadership and play a crucial role in the day to day management of the educational offering in the school, as well as offering wider support to the team.

They will ensure that the Arabic and Islamic Studies curriculum and timetable is well planned, covering all areas of the specifications from the Ministry of Education. The post-holder will also be responsible for leading on the staffing of this department thus providing adequate teaching resource for the timetable.
