The Arts at BHSR: A Stage for Every Talent

Music at BHSR: A Journey of Discovery

At BHSR we believe that every child should showcase their talents in the Arts, be part of performances on stage, and shine as they develop in confidence and maturity. In our Music classes, we focus on developing impressive performance skills, good presentation, good tuning and rhythm, and active listening, as we perform together as a group. We study a variety of instruments including piano, ukulele, drums, glockenspiel, percussion, boom whackers, and vocals. We use the latest technology softwares in electronic composition, with each student having access to the Soundtrap application which enables students to compose music using the sound of every instrument from the orchestra. From KG to Senior School we believe every student has musical potential and can harness that potential through group performances. We offer after school activities including Choir, Instrumental Groups, Band, Violin Club and Dance Club, focusing on creating memorable performances where we value all students, strive for excellence, whilst displaying our wonderful students’ unique gifts.

Memorable Performances: The “Edhak” Experience

Recently all students from G1-G10 were coached to perform in our “Edhak” Performance. Students joined together, often performing with students from other grades, presenting songs such as “Yesterday’s Dream”, “Edhak”, “Brave” and “A Million Dreams” which focused on joy, courage, and dreams and aspirations. “Edhak” was inspired by Children’s Mental Health Week 2025. We believe Arts are essential to support our well-being, highlighting the importance of kindness, creativity, and joy. Throughout the program, we showcased the incredible talents of our students, reminding us to know ourselves, grow ourselves, and always find reasons to smile. Proud parents and staff witnessed the magic of “Edhak”, experiencing firsthand the importance of staying positive, brave, and hopeful for the future.

Upcoming Events: House Talent Show & Music Lessons Program

This coming term we will be working on a school-wide House Talent Show competition, where students from Primary to Senior School will be invited to audition to showcase their unique talents and gifts. We are also planning to incorporate a music lessons program next year which will enable students to learn lessons privately on an instrument of their choice with a professional expert on that instrument. Whatever kind of music you enjoy, there is a place for you to develop that passion here at BHSR!!
